Michael John Woods, 89 years old of Omaha, Nebraska passed away on December 3,2025 surrounded by family members.

Mike was born in Omaha, Nebraska on January 14, 1936, the son of George and Mary Woods (Zdan). He graduated from South High School in 1953 and went on to work in the packing house before becoming a full-time firefighter and doing auto body/mechanical work on the side. He retired from the fire department in 1996.

Mike married Kay Taylor in 1985 in Omaha. He loved the Lord, his family, Elvis, cars and jigsaw puzzles. He got joy in all things and never knew a stranger. One of his greatest joys in the last six years was taking Kay (and sometimes another resident or staff member) a latte every time he visited her.

Mike was a member of Spirit Life Assembly of God Church for over 45 years working with Royal Rangers and Men’s Ministries. He loved his church family.

Mike is survived by his children: Rhonda Halligan, Mike Woods, Jr. (Ellen), Scott Woods, Dominic Woods, Tami (Andy) Evertson, Shawn (John) Liu and Mark Taylor, Fourteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, his brother, Steve Woods, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his mother and father, George and Mary Woods and his brother, George.
