The station was built in 1971 and lies along “I” Street, with easy access to 108th & 120th Streets, as well as I-80. When the station was built it was in anticipation of the city’s continued growth. It was a quiet place, surrounded by open fields. Today the station sits in a major hub of the city.
The station’s response territory includes many industrial buildings, hotels along “L” Street, and the Applewood, Cherry Hills, Wood Bridge, and North Oaks neighborhoods.
The station’s fire response compliment include Engine No. 61, 2011 Spartan Gladiator, and Tower No. 61, a 2023 Pierce Enforcer, a 100′ ascendant mid-mount platform. The Tower is one of two which the Fire Department operates.
Additionally, Engine No. 261, a 1992 Ford F-350 brush truck, is available to respond to grass and woodland fires.
The station’s medical compliment include Medic No. 61, a 2019 Freightliner.
