Station No. 24, 45th & Lake

The fire station was built in 1966 and was originally designated as Station No. 23. In 1971 the station was redesignated as Station No. 40. In 2005 the station was redesignated as Station No. 24, which moved it from the supervision of Battalion 4 to the Battalion 2 Chief.

The station’s suppression compliment includes Engine No. 24, a 2023 Pierce Enforcer.

The station’s medic compliment include Medic No. 24, a 2022 Ford F-450, and Medic No. 25, a 2022 Ford F-450. In July 2025, Medic 25 was relocated to Station No. 42 to accommodate station renovation. It is anticipated to return by the new year.

The station sits at the crossroads of Fontenelle Boulevard and Military Avenue and easily responds to North Omaha, Benson, and midtown.

The station as fought numerous fires over the years, earning its firefighters the nickname, the Red Devils.
