Station No. 22, Lindbergh & Ida

The fire station was built in 1998, filling a response gap which had existed since the Eppley’s Airport Authority had assumed control of the airport’s fire station years prior.

The station’s suppression compliment includes Engine No. 22, a 2016 Spartan Gladiator.

The fire station sits adjacent to Omaha’s Eppley Airfield and will respond with Eppley Fire Department to all emergencies. Additionally, the fire company protects all of East Omaha and will provide mutual aid to Carter Lake Volunteer Fire Department.

Because of the station’s proximity to the Missouri River, and the frequency that they house Rescue Boat 1, they’ve earned the nickname, the River Rats.
