Station No. 23, 60th & Maple, former BVFD

Fire Station 23 (6008 Maple) was formally Benson City Hall and quarters for Benson Volunteer Fire Department.  The building was acquired whenBenson was annexed by the City of Omaha on June 7, 1915.  It became quarters for Hose No. 23 and Truck No. 7.  Hose No. 23 was motorized December 14, 1918 and reclassified as Engine No.23.  Truck No. 7 was motorized on September 17, 1918.  It remained an active firehouse until January 31, 1966.
