Station No. 17, 50th & Underwood former – DVFD

Fire Station No. 17 originally served as a city hall for the town of Dundee and a fire station for Dundee Volunteer Fire Department.  The City of Omaha annexed Dundee in 1915 organizing Hose No. 17 in the former quarters of Dundee Volunteer Fire Department.  It appears the Hose No. 17 was motorized immediately and was renumbered to Engine No. 17 in 1918.  It also became quarters for the West District Battalion Chief when it was established.  It remained an active firehouse until January 31, 1966.  Today the 2 story brick building is used by Maxi Walker Dry Cleaning.
