Station No. 16, 11th & Dorcas

Fire Station No. 16 was opened on January 2, 1924.  It was a single story brick structure with a bungalow style architecture.  The new firehouse replaced a wooden 2 story firehouse that was quarters for Truck No. 3.  Two weeks after opening, Engine No. 16 relocated from a firehouse at 7th and Pierce (see Hose No. 9 and Hose No. 16).  It remained an active firehouse until April 3, 1967.  The building was sold and is currently occupied by a child daycare.
