Station No. 11, 30th & Spaulding

Fire Station 11 was opened in October, 1891.  Originally quarters for Hose No. 11, motorized on June 27, 1917 and reclassified as Engine No. 11 in 1918.  This fire station was the original location for the first black firefighters hired by the Omaha Fire Department and remained an active firehouse until 1933 when it was closed due to a lack of funds.  For some time it was used as a restaurant but has since been demolished.
