Station No. 10, Ed Creighton & Park Ave

Fire Station No. 10 opened in October, 1891.  Originally was quarters for Hose No. 10, motorized on July 25, 1916 and reclassified as Engine No. 10 in 1918.  It remained an active firehouse until 1939 when Engine No. 10 moved to new quarters in “West Omaha”.  In 1933 Captain Thomas Shandy, Firefighter John Brandt and Firefighter John Cogan were killed in the line duty at the Millard Hotel Fire.  Just prior to relocating to the new firehouse in 1939 Engine No. 10 was involved in an accident that killed Captain Ed Dodrill and John Jackson.  The fire station was demolished and a single family residence was constructed.
