Fire Captain

Maurice “Morrie” Eugene Bantner, age 77, of Loveland, Colorado passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 4, 2022, surrounded by loved ones.

Morrie was born to Robert and Nellie Bantner in Omaha, Nebraska and was the youngest of six children. Morrie graduated from Benson High School in Omaha and was a U.S. Army Veteran. Morrie played semi-professional football for the Omaha Mustangs in his early years and spent the majority of his career with the Omaha Fire Department where he worked as a Captain prior to retiring and moving to the Loveland area in 2009.

He also enjoyed taking his dogs, Rocky and Sammy, to the dog park, as well as drives through the mountains with Ruth. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Morrie is survived by his wife Ruth; children Christopher Bantner (Missi), Melissa Meyer (Kyle), Laura Olson; step children Lisa (Torin) Haskell, Traci (Ron) Gile; and three grandchildren: Emma Olson, Berlynn Bantner, and Bishop Bantner.
