Leo “Butch” Richard Nary, 77, of Omaha, entered into Heaven on March 24, 2022, in Omaha, Nebraska. Leo was born on April 5, 1944, to Caroline and Burdette Nary in Omaha, Nebraska. Leo is survived by current wife, Jeanette G. Nary, former spouse, Carol A. Nary and their children: Dion Nary )Diana) and grandchildren: Casey, Emma, Liam Nary, and Kyle Ortiz; Dana Nary Rodeghier (Gino) and grandchildren: Colby Nary, Libby and Giada Rodeghier; James Kinman and grandchildren: Jamen and Emily Kinman, Janet Kinman; Nicole Minardi (Al Nhete) and grandchildren: Liz, Sydney, and AJ Minardi; brother, PJ; sisters, Linda and Pam; many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Leo graduated from South High School in 1962, afterwards he served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps, then attended Bellevue University. Leo became a fireman with the Omaha Fire Department and retired as a Captain.

Leo enjoyed coaching and refereeing various sports and traveling. He liked to play soccer, golf, fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with grandchildren. He liked to read, watch movies, and showed talent in stained glass. To know him, he was never short of a witty answer, and you always knew where you stood with him. He was proud of his Irish Catholic heritage and being a parishioner of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, growing up in South Omaha, and Cunningham’s Bar.

Leo always provided for his family, took care of anything that needed to be done. He helped anyone who needed it. Leo was deeply loved and will be missed by all.

A special thanks to the Omaha VA for providing care and assistance during his time of need, and a special thanks to Heafey-Hoffman-Dworak-Cutler for their comfort and care to Leo and his family.
